The Big Picture
The NMI Summer STEMaritime Program will introduce subjects, concepts and practical applications on land and at sea immersing students into the world of the global maritime industry. The maritime industry drives the global economy and is rapidly expanding. Students will be educated and engaged on several topics in the field and will see first-hand the region and industry that built and drives America.
Educate and Engage are our two guiding principles throughout this program geared for students ages 14-17 years old.
Students will:

- Conduct lab and near shore boat activities throughout the facility and the marina throughout their one week engagement.
- Rotate through one week at sea onboard the Fritha conducting sail training activities, marine bio stations, environmental impact studies and port visits.
- Experience local town hospiltality and culture throughout their week

Instructor experience:

World-class Captains and instructors educated in the maritime and marine industries with experience in the United States Coast Guard, United States Navy, United States Merchant Marine, International Maritime Organization, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and Sea Education Association.
