Basic and Advanced Firefighting
U.S. Coast Guard (Domestic)
This five day course covers the theory, practical assessments and examination requirements for Basic and Advanced Firefighting requirements for U.S. license/endorsement applications. Topics include: Firefighting Theory, Combatting Fire, Fire Prevention, Fighting Fires, Training of Fire Parties, Drills, Contingency Planning and Fire Investigations and Reporting. Four days are delivered in the classroom with a day of practical fire demonstrations at the Connecticut Fire Academy. (Students are responsible for their own transportation. Student facial hair requirements also apply.)

USCG Approval:
Any applicant who has successfully completed your Combined Basic and Advanced Fire Fighting (NOREMI-125) course will satisfy the: a) Basic Safety Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting training requirements of Section A-VI/1 and Table A- VI/1-2 of the STCW Code and 46 CFR 11.202(b)(2); AND b) Advanced Fire Fighting training requirements of Section A-VI/3 and Table A-VI/3 of the STCW Code; AND (c) Basic and Advanced Fire Fighting training requirements of 46 CFR 11.205(d) and 11.401(g)(1) for an officer endorsement; AND d) Fire Fighting training requirements of 46 CFR 13.207, 13.307(a), 13.407 or 13.507 for any tankerman endorsement.
