Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Approves Northeast Maritime Institute’s Associate in Applied Science in Nautical Science Program

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has approved Northeast Maritime Institute’s (NMI) Associate in Applied Science in Nautical Science Program for GI Bill education benefits.  Under the Post-9/11 benefit, the VA pays the tuition and fees directly to the school, based upon the approved benefit level of the veteran, who may also qualify for a monthly housing allowance and a book and supplies stipend.  One of the advantages of this program is that in two short years a veteran can receive the necessary education and hands on training to obtain an associate’s degree and apply for their USCG license.

The program was designed as fast track to employment opportunities that enables a veteran to start earning money and providing for their families as soon as possible. In addition to the newly approved Associate’s Degree Program, NMI offers several other VA approved courses that lead to a career in the maritime industry. Northeast Maritime Institute is ready to assist veterans who wish to use their education benefits to pursue additional training or college degrees.  For more information, contact registration@northeastmaritime.com, or call (508) 992-4025.
