Lifeboatman Training & Certification
The 40-hour Lifeboatman training course (Proficiency in Survival Craft) will satisfy the survival craft training requirements of Section A-VI/2 and Table A-VI/2 of the STCW Code and the written and practical examination requirements of 46 CFR 12.10-5 for endorsement as Lifeboatman. The Certificate of completion must be presented within one year of completion of training to a Regional Exam Center for an endorsement as Able Seaman- Offshore Supply Vessel. This course covers lifeboats, davits, safety procedures, and life rafts. The class is in lieu of the Coast Guard exam and incorporates training on our scale model and full-size lifeboat with “in the water” training. The Lifeboatman training course is U.S. Coast Guard Approved and STCW 95 Compliant.
