Partnership with the Commonwealth of Dominica

Northeast Maritime Institute (NMI) can provide training and education for international mariners at either its Fairhaven, Massachusetts location or at an off-site location.

Northeast Maritime Institute is also the Approved Education and Training Institution for the Commonwealth of Dominica Maritime Administration. This approval provides Dominica training, licensing, and endorsement opportunities to mariners worldwide under STCW Code.

License Courses – Dominica licensing courses may be taken on-site at the Fairhaven facility, or special off-site programs may be scheduled.

Assessments – NMI is authorized to complete required STCW assessments for mariners through the use of its full bridge simulators or by scheduling an assessor to visit a mariner’s vessel of employment.

Examinations – After an approved Dominica application package has been submitted to the Commonwealth of Dominica Maritime Registry (www.dominica-registry.com), a mariner may schedule their license examination(s) through Northeast Maritime Institute with the option of having it administered at either: at NMI, at an off-site testing center, or electronically.
