Simulator Training


Northeast Maritime Institute is proud to offer two full bridge simulators and a Liquid Cargo Handling simulator to increase the benefits of practical, hands-on experiences for our students.


Tug Simulator


“Shallow Brown” is our full mission tug comprised of state of the art navigation equipment with display screens both forward and aft.

The simulator has three interchangeable control panels to provide multiple steering system experiences:

  • Flanking Rudders
  • Z-drive Controls
  • Independent Rudder Controls

To provide an optimal experience, both simulators can communicate and work in conjunction to practice multiple scenarios.


Full Mission Bridge Simulator


“Deep Blue” offers a life-like, on-ship experience for even the most experienced sailor.

This modern marine simulator allows training in standard procedures, ship handling, watch keeping and emergencies, development of professional skills, and consolidating previously obtained theoretical knowledge.




Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator


LCHS is used in both our Tank Barge and Tank Ship- Person in Charge courses. The Tank Barge Simulation course provides students with an additional credit of 4 loads and discharges, reducing sea-time requirements.
