Northeast Maritime Institute is located at 32 Washington
Street in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. Normal operating hours are from 9:00
am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. The facility at Washington Street is
located just blocks from the water with a number of lodging options,
restaurants, shipyards and marinas within walking distance.
The facility is comprised of a two story
historic structure built in the 1800's with a one story addition completed in
the 1960's. Northeast Maritime is currently renovating the space to create
a beautiful, functional facility for its school operations. The facility
currently consists of:

Large classroom on the first floor (25+ student capacity)

Radar Classroom with student computers on the first floor

Small classroom on the first floor (12+ student capacity)

Marlinspike Laboratory – Consists of two rooms used for knot tying and wire and rope splicing exercises.

Lifeboat Laboratory – A motorized, ¼ scale lifeboat with gravity davits is located in the lifeboat laboratory room, for practical training. Students practice launching and recovering exercises with the model lifeboat prior to completing demonstrations on the 30 foot lifeboat.

Full Mission Bridge Simulator - Seven plasma display screens offer a life-like, on ship experience for students. This modern marine simulator allows training in standard procedures and emergencies, developing professional skills and consolidating previously obtained theoretical knowledge.

Parking Lot – A parking lot is located behind the main building. Approximately 12 parking spaces are available free of charge to staff and students, on a first come, first serve basis.

Student Computer Facility – A student computer room is located on the second level. These computers are available for word processing, spreadsheet and USCG examination software use.
- Restrooms – Handicap accessible restrooms are available on the first level of the main facility.
